Thank you, SuRoUK for sharing what you did, I did what you did with the online check it and it worked for my brother's reservations. He can now customize his bands as well.

Yes Andre we have the UK 21 day ultimates. I have another friend staying elsewhere who can also only book them until sept 28th - this has been the case for a few days now.
Tonight my online account has stopped working for MDE so I'm hoping something good is happening. Although knowing Disney, they probably deleted my account lol

Re: Magic Bands coming to Port Orleans Riverside from 3rd Se
I was so excited when a PopUp came up on my MDE asking me if I were ready to start customizing my magic bands! Wahoo . . . but when I clicked on "Yes" I was brought back to the "about MyMagic+" screen which burst my bubble a little bit BUT...then after reading on the PortOrleans FAQ page on the DIS on noticed that people were having luck after checking-in online. I had been avoiding that, because my parents are traveling with us, an we have our reservations linked and with us arriving at very different times, I did not want to hurt the chances of our rooms being nearby, preferably connected. But I broke down and did it and was happy to see that it already had "connecting rooms" in the special request section woohoo! Can I still send a fax request in even though I have already checked in online?
Lastly, while excited to have them and be a part of the Magic Band test...I am a little bit skeptical. I am a bit of a planner, some may say I overplan, but this sure takes pre-planning to a whole new level! I understand how the bands will work in terms of opening doors, turnstiles, quick service and shopping, but how would we use the band for table service meal payment? Do they bring a reader with your check, or do you have to give them your bracelet? We will be able to have an "old fashioned" KTTW card as well? Or is it band only?
So excited!! 38 days and counting! Still waiting for our mickey mail . . . usually we have gotten it by now. A little concerned as I have seen some people getting their ME hangtags 60+ days out? Our DE transfer shows on MDE, so I know they have the flight information . . .

Don't worry, you can still fax a request 3-5 days before your arrival, even after doing Online Checkin.mouserrificmom wrote:Can I still send a fax request in even though I have already checked in online?

At table service restaurants they bring an iPod-type device to your table, you tap your RFID device (Magic Band or KttW card) on it and then enter your PIN number, and they will return with your receipt - no need to give them your band or card.
For the time being, you will get a duplicate KttW card in addition to the Magic Band.

Well, I spoke with Disney technical support today to unlock my account - it seems there was a minor problem when the site switched with merging of associated accounts. So that's all sorted...
However, the cm mentioned about my fastpass+ and magicband, and said I should be able to customise at 30 days. was quite happy with the additional information!

Received this e-mail today, an invitation to participate in the test:
Dear xxxxxxxxxx Family,
As an upcoming Disney Resort hotel Guest, you could help us test a new way to experience Walt Disney World Resort before we share it with the rest of the world. It's a new collection of magical tools we're calling MyMagic+.
Since MyMagic+ is still being developed, we're offering this opportunity for some Guests, and Walt Disney World Passholders® like you, to test it out during your upcoming visit and tell us what you think works and where we need to improve. But don't worry, if you decide not to participate in this test, you will still enjoy a great Walt Disney World visit.
As a tester, you get to try our NEW MagicBand.
This cool and colorful wristband is an all-in-one accessory that connects you to all of the selections you've made. You can use the MagicBand to:
• Enter your Disney Resort hotel room with just a touch.
• Enter the Walt Disney World Parks (valid Park admission required).
• Access the FastPass+ attractions and shows you've selected.
• Purchase food and merchandise at select locations*.
And, test our new FastPass+ service to reserve access to select attractions and shows before you leave home.
Disney FASTPASS® Service has always been a great way to enjoy Walt Disney World attractions with little or no wait. During this test, with the NEW Disney FastPass+ service** you can reserve access to select attractions and shows in advance (valid Theme Park admission required).
If you would like to participate in the MyMagic+ test,
simply visit MyDisneyExperience.com and complete the
steps below by August 25, 2013.
The message then went on to explain I needed to link my passes, my reservation, Fast Pass+, etc. on MDE. So the adventure continues!

You almost need a university degree to book a full Disney vacation package nowadays. It is not good news for the older generation.
Re: Magic Bands coming to Port Orleans Riverside from 3rd Se

Try doing Online Checkin again (just use the 'Update' option and go through the same screens again) and see if the Magic Bands option appears.lottea21 wrote:Not able to see magic bands yet but I'm patient. All options are under the my experance tab.

Re: Magic Bands coming to Port Orleans Riverside from 3rd Se
So just how do you know you've been assigned a magic band? are you assigned a magic band... I think the more I research this the more I'm confused. I get WHAT the magic bands offer and can do, but I dont get the whole fastpass+ signup yet. Is that because we dont have access yet?
So, when I sign into My Disney Experience (where my dinner, tickets, and POR reservations have all been connected) I see a link for fastpass+. But when I click on the link it brings me to a popup that says "Are you ready for a new kind of magic" and offers me to link theme park and resort reservations (which I've already done, right?). Am I missing something? Will there be more the closer I get to my 10/1-10/6 adventure?
Thanks to whoever can shed some like and a special thanks to Andre for this site!!!

At the moment, FastPass+ testing seems to be going up as far as 28 Sept only. Once people get to 18 days prior to that, perhaps they'll open the window up? That's the problem with test phases, nothing is definite as yet.

Re: Magic Bands coming to Port Orleans Riverside from 3rd Se
Update: So far this has been a positive experience. I was able to add a second resort reservation to MDE for the end of this week. I received notification early this morning that the bands have shipped, scheduled for delivery today. As part of the test I was able to secure Fast Pass + reservations in EPCOT for the first day of my upcoming trip. I selected Soarin' and allowed the system to suggest other rides. MDE returned MIssion Space, Test Track and Soarin', all in the morning on September 4. Next add-on will be ADR, I'm curious to see if they have set aside times specifically for the test, as most premier locations are booked well in advance.

We arrive Sept. 3rd but haven't been able to use FPP or MB. I'm thinking maybe it is because we are using military tix. Does anyone know anything about this?
Re: Magic Bands coming to Port Orleans Riverside from 3rd Se
Have you tried re-doing Online Checkin? That sometimes releases the Magic Band options.Emlovesdisney wrote:We arrive Sept. 3rd but haven't been able to use FPP or MB. I'm thinking maybe it is because we are using military tix. Does anyone know anything about this?
FP+ relies on having a linked ticket for your stay in the MDX system, does your military pass show on your MDX page?

That's pretty funny. We check in on the 28th but don't have plans for that day other than ADR's for Chef Mickey's. I had been trying to make Fast Pass + reservations starting on the 29th because that is our first day in the parks but the system tells me that it isn't available. After reading your message I decided to make reservations for the 28th and low and behold it is allowing it, even though I am not going into the parks that day. I wonder when the rest of the dates will open up?
Re: Magic Bands coming to Port Orleans Riverside from 3rd Se
FYI...For anyone that is interested or has a trip starting on September 29th, Fast Pass + selections/reservations are now available (at least through October 4th). I was just able to access those dates and make reservations for days during that week. However, there is a slight glitch for the Magic Kingdom on September 30th. If you plan on going into Magic Kingdom that day and are trying to make a Fast Pass + selection, you wont be able to. Any other park on that day is fine, for whatever reason Magic Kingdom doesn't have any selections. was on the phone with a CM at the Internet Help Desk and he stated they are working on it.
Re: Magic Bands coming to Port Orleans Riverside from 3rd Se
We just realised a hour ago that we could book further dates for FP+. One other thing, we customised our magic bands the other day and have up to 25 August to amend, the shipping address shows our home address in UK but I thought I read somewhere they would only ship to a US address, has anyone had them shipped out of US or are they automatically diverted to POR for our arrival?
Re: Magic Bands coming to Port Orleans Riverside from 3rd Se
They won't pre-ship bands outside of the USA, but your customised bands in their nice little box should be waiting for you at the front desk.

Do you think we need to change anything or will they just divert them, would hate for them to go astray.Admin wrote:They won't pre-ship bands outside of the USA, but your customised bands in their nice little box should be waiting for you at the front desk.

Re: Magic Bands coming to Port Orleans Riverside from 3rd Se
Well just a little update. Fastpass+ for sept 28th onwards opened yesterday so october should now be available. As promised my MagicBands became customisable a few days before the 30 day mark and we have around a week before they are shipped. My understanding is that they WILL ship to a UK address, I have several friends who have had theirs shipped to a UK address - still waiting at the moment.
As for MagicBand customisation, like i said you need to be near the 30 day mark to checkin and you DO NOT need to do online checkin to do this. If you think you should have them on your account and they are not showing, try a few things first before calling disney - make sure your resort reservation is retrieved and in the reservations section of your account. If it is, then give disney a call and this should release customisation for you.

So, we arrive Sept 15th from Canada. I have set up "My Disney Experience" both on the website and mobile. For some reason, it appears I can make FastPass + selections for my family, but not for me as the primary guest. Beside my name is says "not eligible for My Magic+," although I can select all my family member and move ahead with selecting FastPasses. Thoughts? Perhaps I need to wait for an email from Disney to inform me I am part of the test group at POR?
I can customize Magic Bands.
Can't wait to get to POR for our first visit;)

See if you have tickets assigned to your name. Its should have been done, especially if you booked a package, but on the off chance that your name doesn't have any tickets linked to it that would keep the system from letting you make Fast Pass + reservations. If your tickets are not linked to your name call Disney Customer service and ask to speak with the Internet Help Desk, they are the ones who will straighten it out.
Something else you could try, it has been mentioned in another post but just in case you didn't see it, try doing an online check-in even if you already had. I was having issues the other day and was had already checked in online. However, I went through the process a second time and as soon as "the curtains parted, champagne fell from the skies" and I was allowed to access Magic Bands customization and the Fast Pass + reservation system.
I hope my suggestions help. Good luck.
