Couldn't have been happier

We stayed at Riverside the first week in February and loved it. It was so relaxing after hectic days in the parks. The resort is so spread out that it never felt busy. Our 5 yr. old daughter loved the Royal Room and looking for all of the hidden Mickies. She also loved the letter from Tiana (don't forget to get a paper copy when you check-in). We ate at the food court more often than we thought and there was plenty of variety. My daughter loved joining the "Down by the Riverside" parades through the dining room, even when she was the only child joining in. That song is still playing in my head, and if she didn't enjoy it so much, it would have been tiresome after a week, but she loved it so I remember it fondly. I wish I remembered the words. Don't bother brewing the in-room coffee, it is terrible. The coffee at the food court was good, and I actually looked forward to the walks in the morning to go get it, the landscaping is beautiful.

Andre, thanks a bunch, not only for answering the one question I posted to this forum, but for having such a great site, that I only needed to ask one question!

Gorgeous photos! Your little Princess is too cute under the fireworks. Glad to hear about your phenomenal trip!

I'm new here, but have decided to stay at POR in September thanks to this site. Your TR makes my decision to stay at POR all the more sweet. :D

We were also at Riverside during the first week of February! We all had a blast and it was nice to get away from the NY winter! We did find it a little odd to be able to go swimming in February though, lol!

We stayed at the French Quarter in 2009 and we all agreed we liked Riverside better.

Can you tell me what the weather was like when you were there in February? I can research and find the average highs and lows, but what did that really translate to as far as activities? Was the water slide on? Was swimming cold but managable? Pants & longsleeves at the park? Coats in the morning/nights?

Trying to get an idea of what to expect for our upcoming February '14 trip. I don't want to talk to the kids about the pool and the slide if they aren't going to be able to enjoy them.

Thanks!

Amy

My suggestion is layering!

I'm going again in Feb (1st - 8th) as well , it's been a few years since I've been in Feb but from what I can remember is that we wore long pants with a T-shirt and hoodie. As the day progresses you can remove the hoodie and be fine for the rest of the day. My warning to you is be careful of the sun even on cool days, for some reason I always get a little too sunkissed on days that we are wandering around Epcot. How many times before I learn!!!

Disney Water Park Closures - http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/rehab.htm

Pools - Disney heats all their pools so swimming could be an option my only concern would be getting to and from said pool ;)

Hope this helped you!
