Our First Stay on Property

Our family made our way from Minnesota to Floriday in mid-October. In the past, we stayed off property and truly enjoyed ourselves, but our travel agent found a great deal to stay on-property at a Moderate Disney property. We arrived at Port Orleans-Riverside and knew that we had found the perfect place to stay. What a beautiful property with all of the excelent service of Disney yet so far from chaos and hectic pace of the parks. Everything about this property invites a person to sit back and relax. Within five minutes of arrival, we took a picture of a bunny crossing the path. With our return to Minnesota, I will have to admit that pictures do not do this property justice. There are quiet pools, hammocks, and gazebos throughout the property - it is just beautiful. At check-in I was a little concerned because our travel agent had requested a room in Alligator Bayou. Our kids were excited about the idea of the new Murphy Bed. When we checked in, we found out that we had actually been booked in a Mansion. The property was fully booked and there was no way to make a change, so we went with it - we had a wonderful time. Interestingly enough - the property was full the entire time we were there, yet we hardly even noticed other than at meal time. There is just so much space that you honesly feel that you have all the space to yourself. As always, it is Disney's attention to the details that truly makes the difference. We can't wait until we can visit again!

How long of a walk was it from the mansion to the food court and bus stops?

From the Magnolia building I'd say it was about a 10 minute walk to the food court at an easy pace. Then to the bus stop which was right behind our building it took about 5 minutes max. But we had just three adults.
