Royal vs Preferred Rooms value/walk/bus

Unread post by Bap1Tap1 »

We just booked 2 weeks for Aug 2018 and booked Royal rooms river view and are 2nd guessing ourselves. We have 2 girls 11 & 14. We have stayed in building 18 preferred in the past and loved the location to the dining, pool & bus. We are looking for input on Royal building location for dining, swimming & bus transportation. Is it a lot farther for walking? Also any other August travel input!!

It might be a little further (or might not if you're in the wing of Oak Manor closest to the bridge), but not a deal-breaker by any means. Your girls probably will like the Royal rooms more than the plainer Alligator Bayou rooms. As for August: hats, sunblock and hydration!

None or the River View Royal rooms are too far from the main buildings (using the footbridge between Oak Manor and Parterre Place) but some of them are quite a distance from the main pool - although there is a quiet pool between Oak and Parterre which is very easy to get to if that's where you prefer to swim.

Personally I would suggest requesting a room in Oak Manor directly overlooking the river. We were in 9239 recently, and that area is a great compromise if you want fairly quick access to the main pool, or try for the other end of the same building if access to the main buildings and South bus stop is more important for you. Whichever, as long as you're not at the very far end of Parterre Place you'll fine fine.
