POR and POFQ pool area maintenance updates

The planned dates for the Port Orleans Riverside Ol' Man Island pool closure are now set as 11 January 2016 to 4 March 2016 . This includes the main and children's pools, the hot tub and the Muddy Rivers pool bar - but the campfire, kids' playground, fishing hole and through-route walkways will remain open. This work could potentially run a little longer, but that's the most accurate information I have at present.

Also, construction work on the new Port Orleans French Quarter children's water play area is running slightly behind schedule due to some permitting issues, and it is now scheduled to open on 19 January 2016.

I have a trip planned for March 1. I called about the pool,and I was told that it would be done by March 1st. I was wondering if this is correct. I don't want to stay at a resort without a pool.

I assume you are talking about the Riverside pool? The most recent date I've been given for completion is 4 March, but that could change of course (which could be either way, but in my experience these things more often end up taking longer than planned rather than shorter).

There are still five other pools at the resort though (plus the one at French Quarter), and many guests seem to prefer the more local quieter pools rather than the main pool (my daughter does for one).
