On 27 May 2020, Disney submitted its proposals to the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force for a gradual re-opening of the Walt Disney World theme parks. The intention is to reopen the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom on 11 July, and Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios on 15 July.

There will be a lot of initial restrictions though, such as requirement for pre-booked entry slots for guests with existing bookings and for annual passholders, and a temporary block on any new bookings or ticket sales. The My Disney Experience app/website is not accepting any new reservations for FastPasses, ADRs, or imminent hotel bookings. There will also be many social distancing policies introduced, including no close-crowd generating activities such as fireworks, parades and character greetings. Face coverings will be required for cast members and all guests over 3 years old.

There is less detail on the hotels, but it looks as though they will be reopening in phases. starting with Fort Wilderness on 22 June.

I guess the current situation is that we are too early in the process to have any definitive information, but I would be interested to know if any rumours are floating about for opening dates. I am conscious that I've heard following 9/11 French quarter was shut for refurb for a time , which coincided nicely with the drop in business.

We are looking to possibly book there next year, and this years stay at AllStar Sports is looking very doubtful.

After 9/11, FQ remained shut for a year. Simply an overall demand vs. capacity issue, they just didn't need to open it.

I've not heard re-opening info beyond Fort Wilderness and the DVC Villas yet, but it would not surprise me at all if they phased the reopening of the other hotels based on demand, and moved existing bookings to whichever resorts they do decide to open.

I've set up a page to try to summarise the overall current state of affairs, as there is a steady drip-feed of information from all sorts of sources, but not everything is easily accessible in one place. https://www.portorleans.org/covid-19.php . It doesn't go into the very fine details, but hopefully helps with general planning.
