POFQ Trip report 1/1 to 1/5

Unread post by hawkyman »

This was about our 12th PO stay going back to Dixie Landing times.

We arrived early in the day. We didn't expect our rooms (2) to be ready, so no big surprise that they were not. We headed to the parks after giving our cell numbers. About an hour in we received text messages with our room numbers. This was a nice feature as we just headed to our rooms when we returned that evening. We stayed in 4146 (Accessible) and 4147. The rooms were nice although I still prefer the old bed covers with the color.

Food Court: The food at the the food court is good although we only had one dinner there and breakfast each day. They allowed us to get kids meals for breakfast as we're not big eaters (we did ask if it was OK, and they said sure). The Prime Rib at dinner was very good with quit a few choices for sides. I miss the big spooky faces, but the carnaval mask display they have now is very good. In the mornings during this busy time it seemed like tables were not wiped very quickly after someone left and you had to ask to get it done. We prefer POFQ to POR, although it is smaller, the Riverside song isn't played every hour, which gets old after a few days. People in general seem friendlier at POFQ, as your not fighting to find a table in the morning.

Evening Movies: A couple of the nights there were no movies at POFQ, and the board said to go to POR. Not a big deal, but we had some very nice evenings that we would have liked to see one of the movies without the long walk.

Wifi: Always strong and good speed.

Showers: If there was one big issue it was the water pressure and lack of hot water. Depending on the time, the pressure was sometimes low and turning it all the way up only yielded warm water. But that has always been a bit of an issue at PO for us as we are late risers.

Beds: These are getting a little lumpy. Maybe time to change the mattresses?

Overall it was a nice time for us with happy memories. We used to use more amenities when our daughter was younger but not now with a teen, they are a bit young for her (bonfire, fishing hole at POR).

Wishing you a Magical Time on your next visit.
