Water Taxi

Unread post by Grumpysfavoritegirl »

Hello,
We plan to stay at French Quarter over the Thanksgiving 2017 holiday. We want to take the water taxi to Old Key West to eat at Olivia's. Can we take a water taxi from FQ to OKW (directly)?
Thanks 😊😊

Sadly no, the Port Orleans river ferries run only to the dock at the Rainforest Cafe end of Disney Springs, and the Old Key West boats run from the central dock near the sightseeing balloon. There is a water taxi that goes between the two docks, or you can walk, but it means you'd need to allow probably 1.5 hours to safely do the trip by boat.

Ironically, it's only about 100 yards across some woodsy marshland between the end of POFQ's parking lot and the entrance to Old Key West, but there is no walkable path. If you are pressed for time, a taxi or Uber would be very cheap, maybe $5 or so?
