Size of rooms

Unread post by Debbiek »

My family are arriving at resort in 2 weeks. 4 adults will be sharing a room . Just wondered what space there is inside for 4 sets of luggage storage. is there enough room ? We are there for 2 weeks.

Storage space is not exactly over-generous. There are three drawers available, plus a bedside table and lots of hanging rail space and a higher shelf in the vanity area. The drawer space is a bit smaller in the Alligator Bayou rooms if you happen to get one of those. A lot of people take a foldable travel hanging shelf unit which fits nicely into the vanity area too, something like https://www.amazon.co.uk/Russel-Pocket- ... B002NPBRL6 .

At the moment, there is no under-bed space to put your cases either. The current room refurbishments are changing that, with French Quarter now completely updated and Riverside's Alligator Bayou section coming next (over the next six months). Depending on when you are going, that might make a difference.

Thank you Andre we arrive on Sat 21st July from England so guess we'll just have to try and stack cases somehow. Luggage allowance will not be conducive to carrying clothes racks. Looking forward to getting there. Thanks again

We tend to stack cases on the high shelf in the bathroom (there's more space that it looks) with one extra case down beside the bed nearest the wall, which makes a nice extra bedside table for phone, etc.

If you want to get a clothes organiser to hang over the pole you could always order one from Amazon or Walmart, etc. Would cost you a $5 resort delivery fee, but against the cost of the whole holiday that's peanuts. And leave you can it behind or donate it to another guest when you come home.

I know what you mean by the luggage allowances, and it's worse coming home to be honest. I travel with a half-empty case going out to allow for shopping! As there are five of you though, you will be allowed five 23kg hold bags, so make good use of that allowance - I really do think you'd be hard-pushed to use that up! And again, you can buy an extra case over there if you need it (the outlet malls have lots, as do the supermarkets) or even take an extra fold-flat canvas holdall with you inside one case, and then fill it to the brim on the return trip!

We arrive at POR a few days after you by the way, 31st July for a fortnight. Have a great time, and if it's your first trip to Florida expect it to be HOT and HUMID, drink lots, and stay in the air conditioning as much as you can.
