Hurricane Ian is currently on course to make landfall at about 2pm today near Fort Myers on the Florida West Coast, as a life-threatening Category 4 event. The eye will continue to track inland over the next 24 hours getting to Orlando at a similar time tomorrow (Thursday), albeit with significantly reduced intensity due to its time over land. Expect extremely heavy stormy rain and winds, with possible flooding, before and after the eye arrives. Orlando International airport will be closed Wednesday and Thursday, so there will be no arrivals or departures possible by air. The theme parks will also be closed.

If you are staying at Port Orleans or any other resort hotel, please follow local advice and remain in your room if requested. Arrange to have your own stock of food, drink and snacks - meal kits will be made available in advance via the food court even if normal operations might be closed. Have all your electronics fully charged in advance (torch functions can be useful if the power goes out).

Be prepared, and don't make life more difficult than it needs to be for the ride-out crew. Stay safe everyone.
