Disney Dining Plan

The Disney Dining Plan is Walt Disney World’s rather more flexible equivalent to some hotels’ Full Board or Half Board pre-paid food options. However instead of just being given a fixed breakfast/lunch/dinner at your hotel restaurant, the Disney Dining Plan provides you with a set number of meal or snack “Credits” that can be used throughout Walt Disney World however and whenever you wish during your stay. This page provides a quick overview of how it works specifically for Port Orleans guests, but there is a lot more detailed information out there on the web if you need it.

Quick Service Dining Plan

DDP LogoThe plan normally offered at moderate resorts such as Port Orleans is referred to as the Quick Service Dining Plan, and it provides every member of your party with two (2) Quick Service meals and one (1) “Snack item” for every night of your stay, plus each person will also receive a refillable mug for use at resort food courts. The mugs are valid at all Walt Disney World resort hotels for 14 days (or longer if necessary to cover the full duration of your stay) but cannot be used in the theme parks. Quick service dining Credits can be used at all Walt Disney World counter service locations, but cannot be used at table service restaurants, buffets, or character meals. For those, you would need to buy the regular (and more expensive) Dining Plan, or pay directly for each extra meal.

The appropriate number of Credits for every adult and child in your party for your entire stay will be loaded onto your hotel room account when you arrive. Anyone in the room can use the available Credits for counter service meals (which consist of one entrée and one drink, including alcohol for adults if available) and for assorted Snack items (anything with a purple DDP logo on a restaurant, store, or mobile cart price list – including things like bottled drinks, bakery products, confectionery, popcorn, ice cream, etc).

Credits are very flexible and can be used all around Disney World, whenever and in whatever combination you wish. They are not assigned to any particular person (other than being used for adult versus child meals) nor to any specific dates, and can still be used right up to the end of your departure day. Tip: if you are getting a counter service meal at a resort hotel and using your refillable mug for drinks, don’t forget to also claim a free bottled drink with your meal as you can take that with you for later.

Once you have selected your food and taken it to the register, tap your room keycard, magic band, phone app, etc and tell the cashier that you wish to use your Dining Plan Credits rather than paying using cash or card. You can keep track of your remaining Credits at the bottom of every meal receipt, or via the My Disney Experience app. Keep an eye on your balance and pace yourself so you don’t use everything up too quickly, but also make sure you don’ have a lot of Credits remaining at the end of your stay as they will expire at midnight on your departure day. Of course you can always be altruistic and buy meals for the next few people in the queue, or via mobile ordering, on your last day rather than letting them go to waste.

Pricing

The Quick Service Disney Dining Plan in 2025 costs $59.14 per night for each adult, and $24.71 for children aged 3–9 (inc. tax). The more comprehensive Standard Disney Dining Plan (which offers one table service meal, one quick service meal, and one snack per day) costs $97.79 per night for adults, with children (aged 3–9) at $30.56. Whichever plan you choose though, it must be taken out in advance for every person aged 3+ staying in the room, and for the entire duration of your stay, you can’t be selective with people or dates, or add it part way through your stay. Note: There is a special offer for all dates in 2026, providing childen with the Dining Plan for free while the adults in the room pay $60.47 for quick service or $98.59 for the standard plan.

There are occasionally special offers which provide the Dining Plan for free with full-price room packages, and if available this is definitely good value for larger parties. For single or double occupancy though, it’s worth checking to see if there are other discounts available which might otherwise work better for you. UK guests for example are routinely offered the appropriate Dining Plan for free as part of early-booking package deals, which is great value for a family of four travelling for two weeks.
