5 in room
We booked our reservation online. We have 3 teenagers (although 2 of them are fairly small for their age). Anyway, we were planning on bringing a sleeping bag just in case the trundle isn't big enough. We needed to call to speak to an agent about another matter, and the agent told us that our family was too large and wanted to cancel our reservation and book two rooms. I was livid, and stated I was able to book online and there was no way I was booking a second room. Has this ever happened to anyone else? After looking over the blogs, I also noticed that they will provide a roll away when needed.
Re: 5 in room
You don't say where you have booked, or who with?
Riverside's Alligator Bayou section is indeed set up for 5 people, with a trundle bed in each room (although French Quarter is not) and bookings made through WDW's US website or the US telephone booking line for POR should be fine. They can even add a roll-away bed to one of the Riverside mansion-building rooms if necessary, however they do prefer to accommodate five in the Alligator Bayou rooms if possible. The trundle beds are fine for older children and small adults, but generally if a person is too much over 5 ft they might find it a bit restrictive.
However some agents (including, ironically, Disney UK who seem to act as an agent rather than acting directly on behalf of WDW) cannot make 5-person bookings at POR due to the way their contracts work. But if you're booked at Riverside with Disney US you should be fine, and if anyone objects ask to speak to a supervisor.

Re: 5 in room
An FYI about the rollaways in the Mansions - there is a charge for these ($15 plus tx), but it might be more comfortable for a family of 5 with even small teens. The rollaway fit right behind the door and can be left down or folded each day. We found it far more comfortable. Hope this helps & have a great trip.
Re: 5 in room
Hi all
Firstly what a great find this site and forum is
This thread is prefect for something I am struggling to find a conclusive answer for.
For the first time after 4 previous visits to POR, in March next year our party will contain 4 adults and one 6 year old. Our favorite rooms are around Magnolia Bend within the Magnolia Terrace & Oak Manor buildings and I was wondering if the cast members would ever see it in themselves to make a trundle bed available in one of these rooms?
Does anybody know if this has been done before and if so would there be a charge?

Re: 5 in room
You can't have a trundle bed in a Magnolia Bend room I'm afraid, they are only fitted in the Alligator Bayou rooms.
Officially, POR will allocate a party of five to an Alligator Bayou room for that reason. However it is certainly possible for them to give you a roll-away bed (i.e. a fold-up bed on wheels which you can roll away into a corner when you are not using it) in the mansion buildings, and there are various reports of this being done if the AB section is completely full when people check in, but even though there is no technical or legal reason why not, you might find the front-desk staff are a little reluctant to do it.
I think I might highlight this in the FAQ section actually, as a lot of people ask about it.

Thank you for the insight.
A roll a way bed, that sounds interesting. I presume this is suitable for a six year old? Do you know of anyone that has used this bed or has pictures?
