Shopping at POR

Unread post by mikebatterbee »

HI Im bring my family and grandchildren to POR to celebrate my retirement, and although we have the Dining Plan, are there any shops near by where we can by food ie milk, biscuits etc, we do not have our own transport.

Thanks

The resort shop sells basic foodstuffs - milk, bread, chips, etc. But the prices are a lot higher than Wal-Mart!

A lot of people in a Disney group on Facebook use Garden Grocer and are happy with it. (We went to Walmart because we rented a car!)

The shop in the lobby sells enough food supplies such as milk, donuts etc to keep your stomach in order in between meals. It really doesn't sell anything that would take the place of a meal.

we find that the Disney Vacation Club stores always stock a lot more food and drinks then the other resorts.
First Visit to POFQ May 1995
Off site in Kissimmee June 1996 (never again)
POR nearly every year since although we did go to Wilderness Lodge one year which was also really nice.
Off site LBV this year 2011 (Wyndham LBV - was just OK but never again)
Disneyland Paris - too many times to count but prob about 20 (not a patch on WDW)
The hubby has been to Disneyland California but was too young to really remember much.

True. The shops at Old Key West or Saratoga Springs carry a wider range (for people staying at DVC units where they want to do their own cooking).
