Hello, we will be staying at POR Riverside the first week in September. Very excited to stay at a Disney resort this time. I have a question about the room locations and which sections/rooms should I try to reserve. I suppose I should have a few rooms in mind in case we don't get our first request. We will have a 6 year and 2.5 year old with us. Can you please let me know the pros and cons of different sections of the resort and which rooms are the best in your opinion for a young family.
Also, will the parks and resort be crowded that first week in Sept 1-7, as it is right before Labor Day?

Re: Pros and Cons of Rooms
There's a section in the FAQ about the different areas of the resort. You might find Alligator Bayou's trundle bed helpful though, and the kids might like the rustic Bayou theming.
1-7 Sept this year will probably be a little busier than the week after Labor Day (as it is fairly late this year) but still not too bad at all when compared with three weeks earlier (or even the last week in August). Overall not a bad time to go, as long as the weather is kind to you. The restaurants will tend to be very busy though due to free DDP dining at that time, so if there's anywhere special you want to eat, book it now (you already won't be able to get many of the prime locations this close to the dates - bookings start 90 days out).

Re: Pros and Cons of Rooms
We just returned from POR (7-7 thru 7-15) and stayed in the Alligator Bayou section. It was beautiful, and your kids will love seeing the rabbits and other animals that live in the surroundings. We requested either Building 14 or Building 18. These were the 2 closest to the lobby, food court, and shuttle busses (South Depot). We were right beside a "quiet" pool, and a short walk over a bridge to the main pool with a slide. I will definitely stay there again! Loved it!
