going in oct

Unread post by ann »

love this sight. We are going in Oct. :D . Would like information please . Is it really busy? are there alligators at riverside that we need to contend with . sorry the question is from my daughter .
we upgraded from pop without even looking at it first , so I got worry about all the bad reports on other sites , and came across this site and I'm now relieved to see good reviews here .
Thank you

After staying in the past six years at Riverside 4 times and in the FQ once I can not recall anything to do with Alligators save the statue by the pool in FQ...

Seriously, the Disney folks are very very good at keeping the alligators well away but you may well see some of the small lizards (think less than 3-4 inches long) and bunnies.

I think you will be more than pleasantly surprised by a few things in comparison to the value resorts. The grounds are more detailed which makes the place feel more separated as far as rooms, the crowds at the pools are generally smaller, and all of that makes it out to seem a bit more intimate. The biggest difference though will definitely be the transportation, it will be much shorter trips (save possibly to Animal Kingdom).

Most of your questions have already been answered (e.g. you won't get eaten by alligators, only bunny rabbits! :) ) but as to crowds in October, it rather depends on when you are going. Holiday weekends and Halloween itself might be a little busier, but otherwise the crowds will probably be relatively light. The restaurants may be a bit full though, due to the free-dining-plan period, so book any meals that you particularly want well in advance.
