Hello everyone!
My family & I will be travelling to our home–away-from-home; Port Orleans Riverside in the next week.
We have made countless memories over our many trips; from the wonderfully entertaining Bob, to the romantic carriage rides throughout this beautiful resort. Just walking along the Sassagoula is reason enough to stay here.
We were therefore very sad to hear that Boatwright’s has closed its’ doors to breakfast customers. (Dinner is still available)
Although Boatwright’s is not a "4 star" restaurant, it was always a pleasurable experience. Breakfast was always fresh & offered at a great value. The food formerly offered for dinner was also quite tasty: spare ribs, pot roast, French onion soup…yummy. But when they changed their dinner menu some time ago, we felt the value was not worth the dinner trip. (It now offers fare that isn't quite pleasing to our pallettes; somewhat drab.) But, we still enjoyed a relaxing, hearty breakfast before hitting a long day at the parks.
It just doesn’t seem right to take away the only full service breakfast option for such a large, moderate resort. The dining options are already limited here. (French Quarter does not have a full service restaurant) I can only imagine the lines that this closure has caused during peak AM times @ Riverside Mill. We do enjoy visiting the many restaurant options throughout the World, but always appreciated the convenience of our own resort restaurant. For this trip, we will visit Old Key West for breakfast one day since it is so close.
Hopefully, the Disney folks are planning to reopen Boatwright's for breakfast in the future.
Thanks for your ear!

Re: Boatwright's Dining Hall
I couldn't agree more, it seems really short-sighted when breakfast was generally regarded as the best meal offered at Boatwright's.
Also, when you compare the 1990s Dinner menus from Boatwright's to what is offered now (see our Boatwright's Dining Hall page) you're quite right that there has been a definite decline in the variety of food offered - not to mention a very hefty price increase.

Wow!
My mouth started watering after looking at the old menus! What a shame. Makes me feel a bit melancholy for the good 'ol days.

Re: Boatwright's Dining Hall
i agree with everyone here. we went twice to boatrights last year. once for breakfast which we loved. once for dinner which in all honesty was ok. this year we are avoiding boatrights all together. a few relatives of mine (who are coming with us) looked over the menu. they are picky eaters and really didnt like the dinner selection. is there anyone we can write to in order to complain about this. i really would like to be able to have breakfast there again.
