Holiday Music at POR [CD details now included in post #6]

Unread post by lehcar06 »

Hello All! I was wondering if anyone knows what songs are played at POR during the holidays? I love the music that is played there throughout the year as well, but something about the jazzy songs they play really put me in the mood for the holidays.

We too really liked the music played on both water taxia nd buses on return to resort. When in resort last year asked a CM in Fultons if they had this on CD, CM said they did a few years ago but since stopped. Really dissapointed at that not like Disney to miss out on a money making oppotunity

I've not even managed to get a track list of the current music, I must try asking someone again because I'd like to get some of it too.

I've now found the details of the main Port Orleans loops (thanks to a very helpful cast member at Boatwrights and the folks at magicmusic, net) and will post them when I get home.

Many thanks to Jay and Horizons over at http://www.magicmusic.net for their hard work in researching this information. Thread links for Port Orleans general background music and Port Orleans Holiday background music.

The two commercial CDs normally played at the resort are as follows (with links to Amazon for purchasing and some track previews):
New Orleans, Vol. 1 (Preservation Hall Jazz Band)
Lionel Hampton - Greatest Hits (Lionel Hampton)

The two commercial CDs played at the resort during the holiday period from mid-November onward are as follows (with links to Amazon for purchasing and some track previews):
Dixieland Christmas (Jack Jezzro, Sam Levine)
A Creole Christmas (various artists)

For other details and sleeve images, please see the new Music page.

I created the links over to the Amazon US site as there are more US visitors to the site than UK (or other) nationalities. I bought my CD copies from the UK site too, it's easy enough to search for the titles and check you have the same item. The Preservation Hall Jazz Band CD is the most recognisable one when you listen to it.
